Bretton Festival
A Foreword from the Bretton Parish Clerk

I have been informed that the festival has been going for over 30 years and has always been well attended and respected in our community. This year, as last year, everything changed due to the restrictions that the Covid pandemic put us under, which of course meant we could not host the Bretton Community Festival in its usual format.

Bretton Community Festival committee had to decide back in September 2020 how to progress this event and rather than miss the opportunity, the committee decided to design and produce a 'Virtual Festival' relying on the facilities open to the majority of us to communicate and respond online.

It would include features like the Bretton’s Got Talent competition allowing residents to send videos, an art competition, quizzes, uploads to highlight local groups and a short introductions to your individual Parish Councillors.

The councillors themselves have been very impressed by the standard of entries received and although small in number, we are pleased to highlight them here on our web site and at the same time offering our thanks to those who took the time to get involved. The committee can only showcase the material received on 17th July 2021 and we ask you to explore and appreciate the following pages in order. Please take your time to see and read some of the responses we received, hopefully next year we can return to a ‘face to face’ normality.
